Moving to Bucks County? What You Need to Know.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania offers city-quality amenities, in a pristine rustic setting. Whether you and your family are moving here for work, school, or just to make a change- here are some of the items you need to know before you move to Bucks County. 

Upper Bucks County

This piece of the county is chock full of scenic valleys and hills, pristine streams, and a whole lot of productive farmland. Homes in this area tend to be on bigger lots, and they also tend to be older construction. Overall home prices are lower in Upper Bucks compared to the rest of the county.

Central Bucks County 

The central part of the region holds Doylestown, the county seat. This area is also very rural, though not as much as Upper Bucks County. The town of New Hope is Central Bucks County's commercial epicenter, with shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.  Home prices in this area tend to be the highest in the county, and many of the finest homes in the region are located in Central Bucks County.

Lower Bucks County

This section of Bucks County starts to the north of the border with Philadelphia and stretches all the way to the other side of the river in Central New Jersey. If you want the charm and pace of rural life, but still need access to work or amenities in the city, Lower Bucks County is an excellent choice. The ability to reach Philadelphia in 30-40 minutes is a big draw for this area and is part of the reason Lower Bucks has seen so much development in recent years.

Bucks County is an outdoor lover's dream. The region hosts a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, bodies of water, and endless green spaces. The county has everything from destination vineyards and farms to natural preserves where you can get in touch with nature.  The Bucks County Fairs and Festivals page on the county website provides a comprehensive list of dining, shopping, and recreational activities in Bucks County.
