Fall Festivities in Bucks

Oktoberfest, Market Day, and More- Upcoming Events in Bucks County
Posted: October 03, 2019 by Joe Carelli

Fall has finally come to Bucks County, and along with a plethora of activities and entertainment options for your entire clan. Let's take a look at some of the best options Bucks County has to offer this fall.

Bucks County has a long and proud tradition of spending the week prior to Halloween carving and lighting Jack-o-lanterns. This year, on October 27, which is the Sunday directly before Halloween, there will be a carving contest on North Edgewater Avenue in Yardley, from 6 pm to 10 pm. All of the entries in the contest will be on display until November 2.

Hellerick's Farm Fall Harvest Festival

This year's Hellerick's Farm Fall Harvest Festival in Plumstead will feature a winding corn maze, hayrides, extra-long chute slide, and a whole host of other family-friendly activities for you and the ones you love. You can find the Hellerick's Farm Fall Harvest Festival at 5500 N. Easton Road in Plumstead. The maze is open from now until November 3rd, 10 am-6 pm daily.

Market Day

Each year, Newton Borough celebrates colonial life with its annual Market Day. This day harkens back to colonial times and was a time when people from surrounding homesteads and farms would bring their goods and crops into town to sell or barter. This fun historical event is going to happen on October 5, from 10 am to 4 pm, on Centre Avenue and Court St. in Newtown Borough. Featured activities include a ride in a hay wagon, candle making demonstrations, historical and Revolutionary war reenactions and plenty of other activities.

You don't have to be German to celebrate Oktoberfest! Morrisville will host this year's rendition of Oktoberfest, which will feature German food like schnitzel and bratwurst, local apple cider and beer, as well as tons of activities for the kids. The festival will be held at 890 W Bridge St, Morrisville, PA, and will run between 11 am and 6 pm until October 19 of this year.

These are just a few of the options available to Bucks County visitors this fall. For more events, check out the Bucks County Courier Times Guide to Fall.
